San Basilio Cruise Terminal - Venice
San Basilio Ferry Terminal is located at the end of the Zattere area (Dorsoduro district), 500m from San Sebastiano Church. It’s a single-storey building dedicated to high-speed ferries and small/medium cruise ship traffic, easily accessible by passengers with impaired mobility.
The advantage of this terminal is that it is significantly closer to St. Mark’s square and gives passengers quick access to the city center.
Within walking distance, you’ll find bars, restaurants, a supermarket, and an ATM.
San Basilio is a relatively small terminal with basic amenities – waiting room (60 seats), check-in desks and toilets.
How to Reach San Basilio Cruise Terminal
San Basilio sits in Dorsoduro, a short hop from Venice’s three car-accessible entry points — Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto and Santa Lucia railway station — all of which connect to the terminal on foot, by ACTV water bus or by private water taxi. Getting to the terminal from:
- Marco Polo Airport — ACTV public bus line 5 (green line) runs to Piazzale Roma in roughly 20–30 minutes depending on stops. It’s the cheapest option. From Piazzale Roma, continue on foot or by vaporetto.
- Treviso (Antonio Canova) Airport — ATVO shuttle bus to Piazzale Roma; fares and timetables at ATVO.
- Piazzale Roma bus station — roughly 1 km on foot, or about 20 minutes on Vaporetto line 2 (black line).
- Tronchetto or Santa Lucia railway station — around 2 km out. Walkable, or 10–20 minutes on Vaporetto line 2 (black line).
